The building of t-Junction
TNT’s new home, t-Junction, was born when the first pile went into Race Course Road at 10.50 am on 11 September 2003. The first foundational pile of the new TNT centre at 392, Race Course Road was laid on 11 September, 2003. The ground breaking ceremony took place after a three-year search and wait period since moving out of its Devonshire Road centre in 1999.According to former National Director, Jim Chew, “My records show that in 1986, The NavTeens had about 40 leaders ministering to more than 200 growing converts and disciples.
Unlike other tertiary ministries, TNT was not located on campus and a need soon arose for TNT to have a base to equip labourers to serve fruitfully among teens. God provided the Devonshire centre when some monies raised for the Navigator head office in Telok Kurau was made available for TNT, due partly to the generosity of the engineer and architect who did not charge for their services.
Devonshire served the needs of our youth for 12 years, but as the ministry grew in size. TNT’s home had become too small for the work. The final push to look for bigger premises came about when new development plans for the Devonshire area forced TNT to move out of the centre. The returns on Devonshire provided funds for the new site - a move that God had clearly orchestrated.
With construction efforts on schedule, the sparkling new four-storey building was targeted for completion in July 2004. On 8 January 2005, the official opening of t-Junction took place in the form of housewarming and thanksgiving event.
With the new TNT centre and its amenities, TNT is looking forward to the years ahead with great anticipation of the continued vision of building spiritual generations among youth.
